What is a giclée? A giclée (zhee CLAY) -- meaning "sprayed" in French -- is a fine art reproduction generated from the most advanced technology to date in printmaking. A high-resolution digital scan of the original art is printed onto canvas or acid-free fine art paper, using a sophisticated large-format inkjet printer and archival quality inks. The print is then coated with a U.V. protective varnish. Giclées are far superior to traditional lithographic prints in resolution, color accuracy and vibrancy, as well as in fade resistance and durability. In fact, a giclée is often almost indistinguishable from the original work itself.
